Hightlights from Paris Fall 2011 Fashion Week

By Blerona

Fashion week in Paris was amazing, all the designers out did themselves as usual.  Besides the wonderful collection from Chanel the show itself was very theatrical and dramatic, with its fog-shrouded forest on a bed of still-smoldering scorched earth. The collection was filled with jackets, coats, distressed denim leggings, caps, and boots each item looking as if they had been moth-eaten or tattered.  Collete’s collection was filed with detailed lace, beaded embellishments, and crystals. Her collection was full of beautiful pieces; my favorite was full knee length dress with the beautiful trim detail. (upper right photo).  Elie Saab has always been a favorite of mine and this show was no exception.  Of course he had amazing details of lace and beaded. Colors included gray, dark red, and abstract multicolor print. Emanuel Ungara was filled with lace, beaded trim, leather and sequin. There were many lavishing pieces on the runway from strapless black jumpsuit with long-sleeve lace underlay to a sculpted domino sequin embroidered gown.

Douglas Hannant Show was everything that I want in a show, beautiful coats, gowns, tailored skirts and beaded shirts. Everything was Glitz and Glam, a collection I would love to have in my closet for the museum parties and shows I dont attend :(.  Trims included fox fur, beaded trims, crystal belts attached bullion cords, leather skinny belts, and sequin. Overall it was an amazing show and held The Plaza which made it even better!!

Stephen Burrows show was something else, though I wasn’t obessed with fashion in the 90’s, one of the attendees next to us told us after the show that it reminded her for the 90’s fashion shows when models had attitude and were alive on the runway. Besides the captivating models, the collection itself was vibrant and beautiful, there was so much soul in each outfit.

Highlights From Pre-Fall 2011 Collections!

By Blerona

2011  Pre-Fall Collections were all about couture, warmth, class, glitz and glamor! Finally beautiful knee length dresses that you won’t have to second guess as too short. Warm fur jackets and vests from Donna Karen, J. Mendel, and Burberry Prosum. Beautiful tailored pants from well known designers  such as Thaakoon and Jason Wu, perfect for business and pleasure. But the all times favorites for 2011 Pre-Fall/Autumn Collections had to be the beaded, embellished and glamorous dresses perfect for the red carpet, How jealous I am of the celebrities that will wear these designs.
