If you saw our previous post, you would know that we love the new (old) 90s inspired embroidered patches trend. It’s such a DIY-able project, we just had to make our own patched jacket. From runway to street style, this trend is the perfect way to express yourself and we’ll show you how.
What you’ll need:
A Denim Jacket
1. Place the patches where want them on the jacket. Pin them to keep them in place.
2. Add more patches. Use them to tell a story.
3. Once you have them all in place, see if you like the overall effect.
4. Fix them to the jacket by ironing them on. Place a teflon sheet or a cotton cloth over the patch and apply heat till they’re secure.
Fashion moves forward by looking back. This time, the reminiscence of brands like Phillip Lim, Gucci, Alice and Olivia, Valentino and Marc Jacobs, brings us ultra cool, delightfully unique, patched outfits. Retrofitting everything from jackets to playsuits with patches that are cheeky, rebellious or just plain adorable (think unicorns) unearthed this easy DIY-able trend of the 90s, much to our delight. We dare you to resist the urge to make your own patched jackets or jeans after looking at these fine examples of ‘patching’:
A round up of our favorite designer patched outfits from the runway.
Don’t you absolutely love these inspired street style looks?
We’re seeing patches everywhere these days! On jackets, jeans, backpacks and more! They add interest and color to basic pieces, and are usually packed with personality. For our latest DIY, our passion for patches led us to create a denim jacket decked out in military patches.
What You’ll Need:
2. Place a piece of transfer paper over the patches, and iron down carefully. For extra security, stitch patches into place after the glue has cooled.

Lately we’re really feeling jeans that are jazzed up. With the holidays right around the corner, adding a little sparkle or flair to your pair makes them all the more festive. Last year we were all about the embellished sweater, but this time around we think its time that the jeans got a chance to shine! We love the look paired with a basic tee or sweater that really lets the look of the embellished denim shine through.
