This week’s DIY project is super fun, chic, and a little Gothic. Perfect timing for one of our favorite holidays, Halloween! If you’re looking for an accessory piece to complete your Halloween look, well then, you stumbled upon the right blog. This DIY project consists of a gothic choker made completely from lace. How cool is that!? We’ve also included crystal because what’s a statement piece without the right bling? Hope you all enjoy making it as much as we did!
What you will Need:
We Suggest:
- 1 3/4″ Diamond Fence Edge Cluny Lace
- 1 1/4″ (32mm) Cluny Lace
13MM Crimp Bracelet Ends
18MMx25MM Pear Shape Sew-On Jewel
7x10MM Pear Shape Sew-On Jewel
1. Measure the amount of lace you need using you neck as a guide. Cut off any extra.
2. Dab some glue to one end of the lace, and place the crimp bracelet end. Make sure to close it tight with a pair of pliers.
3. Take two jump rings and attach them to each other.
4. Take those two jump rings and add them onto the bracelet end. This will give your choker some length if needed.
5. Take another jump ring to add it onto the other end of the lace. You can stitch it on for extra security.
6. Take the lobster claw and attach that to jump ring.
7. Take the rest of your lace and count five (5) pointed scallops and cut.
8. Cut off the top portion of the lace. Do the same with four (4) pointed scallops and three (3). You would need two (2) pieces of the three (3) pointed scallop piece.
9. Take your two (2) pieces of three (3) pointed scallops and stitch them together back to back for it to look like this.
10. Take your four (4) piece pointed scallop and stitch that onto your stitched three (3) piece pointed scallop.
11. Take your five (5) piece pointed scallop and stitch that onto your completed bib. The result should look like this with all pieces stitched together. Dab some glue on loose ends.
12. Take your completed bib and stitch that onto the lace.
13. Cut off any frayed pieces.
14. Lay out where you would like your sew-ons to hang.
15. Stitch the sew-ons jewels onto lace in desired areas.
16. Stitch rhinestone button in the middle top portion of the choker.
Very well 🙂
That is just adorable! Great idea for just about any special occasion!
Good!!
