Embroidered Patch Trend Inspiration

Fashion moves forward by looking back. This time, the reminiscence of brands like Phillip Lim, Gucci, Alice and Olivia, Valentino and Marc Jacobs, brings us ultra cool, delightfully unique, patched outfits. Retrofitting everything from jackets to playsuits with patches that are cheeky, rebellious or just plain adorable (think unicorns) unearthed this easy DIY-able trend of the 90s, much to our delight. We dare you to resist the urge to make your own patched jackets or jeans after looking at these fine examples of ‘patching’:

dolce-and-gabbanaFlowers and hair are almost a match made in heaven! Whether they’re made of leather or picked straight from the garden, they add a natural touch to your style.

bottega-veneta-bunBarrettes are anything but boring when you add beading, gemstones and the like. Add them to a pony or loose chignon to finish off a basic hairstyle.

Trend Alert: Culottes

Skinny jeans have been the stand-by pant silhouette for years now, and while they are a staple in our closet, sometimes we need a pant that’s a little more roomy. Enter culottes. These wide-legged cropped pants are making a comeback baby! Not only are they chic, they’re also one of the first types of pants to be acceptably worn by women because they were shaped like a skirt, while giving women the freedom to ride horseback astride a saddle. We love this style because it’s versatile, unique and modern; and we know you’ll be seeing it everywhere this spring!   PFW-Street-Style-Day-7
