We take this to heart when it comes to stylish accessories too, so this spring don’t let heavy metals weight you down! Measuring Lace Trim Around Wrist1. Wrap the lace trim around your wrist, and measure how long the lace is when it overlaps on your wrist. Add an inch to that number, and cut.

Folding Over Lace Trim2.  Fold your lace over half an inch, so that the crimp closure will have a thicker grip.

Clamping Metal Crimper3. Place the crimp at the end of your folded lace, and clamp down. Repeat on the opposite side.

Attaching Jump Ring to Lace Trim4.  Connect your jump ring and lobster clasp, and then connect each end to a jump ring.

Laying Out Pattern with Rhinestones5. Now it’s time to design! Lay out your bracelet, and create the pattern you want using rhinestones and nailheads. Use your crystal katana to easily pick up  and place the rhinestones.Gluing Down Rhinestones on Lace Bracelets6. Once you’ve laid out your pattern, glue down each stone. Let the bracelet dry overnight.

DIY Tips and Tricks: Jewelry

Jewelry-making is a popular way to DIY right now because the projects are usually quick, easy, and the results are stunning. There’s also the added bonus of having a completely custom piece that will have all of your friends asking where you got it! While making jewelry is usually a simple affair, there are a few things you can do to make it even easier!

Rhinestones

When working with rhinestones, a crystal jewel setter is your best friend. It allows you to easily pick up and place rhinestones without the hassle of turning them over and fiddling around with them manually. It also allows for more precision. Don’t have a jewel setter? A toothpick with beeswax on the tip works just as well.

Opening jump rings the right way is a lesson that will help you throughout jewelry making. Almost every piece needs a jump ring to attach closures! Check out our video to see how to open and close jump rings properly, so that you aren’t stuck with that annoying gap.

Organizer

Keep it in a caddy. With all of the tiny beads and charms floating around, its good to keep them organized so that you’re able to find the exact piece you need when you need it.

Chain

When it comes to buying supplies, the least noticeable parts are probably the most important. When buying thread or chain, make sure to get the good stuff, or at least the medium stuff. If you’re using a mediocre chain or thread to keep your item together it could easily snap and break.

Brisk-Set Rhinestone Setter

SS48 Tiffany Settings-Nickel Regular Legs

Swarovski Flatback Rhinestones- Crystal AB SS48

STEPS:

Place your Swarovski Flatback Rhinestones- Crystal AB SS48 face down in the Brisk-Set Rhinestone Setter. The pointed side of the stone will be faced down revealing the silver back.

DSC_0573

Hold your bag in a way that allows you to put the Brisk-Set Rhinestone Setter inside. Place a SS48 Tiffany Setting with the prongs facing down over your plastic bag. Make sure the SS48 Tiffany Setting matches the hole in the Brisk-Set Rhinestone Setter .

DSC_0575Press down on your Brisk-Set Rhinestone Setter for the rhinestone to set.

DSC_0576

For harder to reach areas you may want to manually place each of the crystals into place. The first thing you’ll want to do is push your Tiffany Settings through the bag from the interior side.

DSC_0580

Once the settings are locked into place, place your crystal in the backing. It may help to angle your bag in a way that allows the stone to comfortably sit into place.

DSC_0581In order to secure the crystal fold the metal legs so they appear to be clasping the crystal. Add as many crystals as you desire in order to achieve the perfect bag.
