This week Fashion Week flew to Italy: the land of beautiful women, extravagant meals, and some of the most skilled designers in the world. We saw everything from larger-than-life dolls to muted desert fashions, and the eclectic air of Milan really made this week a standout for us during Fashion Month! At Moschino it was night of the living dolls with a collection inspired by America’s most iconic toy, Barbie! Everything was saturated in bubblegum pink and pop culture, a common theme in the past few seasons.
The looks at Dolce and Gabbana were full of passion and drama, much like the Italian brand and designers themselves. The looks were rich in color and embellishment, with Baroque-elements.
Texture was the name of the game at Roberto Cavalli. From lace to denim to crocodile embossed leather, we saw a lot of different fabrics. But color and print also played a huge role at the show with animal prints and bright colors abound.
Botanicals have never been bolder than they were at Blumarine! With expertly placed blooms on many of the sheer dresses, left something to the imagination.
Giorgio Armani’s collection was all about neutrals with patterns reminiscent of desert sands. There was also the occasional touch of animal print, in the most subtle approach.
Love it!
