How to Survive at Fashion Week

Ah Fashion Week. The spring and summer shows of September are one of our favorite times of the year. The air is electrified, the energy is the chaos of a thousand Starbucks coffees, and the influence makes its way throughout New York City. If you’re lucky enough to be able to attend, here are a few tips to make it all go smoothly.

Always keep bandages, bobby pins, and other essentials in your bag. Many fashionistas favor sky-high heels over flats, and if you’re in that category, definitely bring some foot protection.

Stay hydrated! Running from show to show can be pretty tiring, and those glasses of champagne probably don’t help much either. Keep water handy at all times.

Remember a layering piece. Sometimes September can be remarkably cold, make a layering piece a part of your outfit to ensure that the only shivers you get will be inspiration-induced.

Don’t forget to put down your phone. So much of Fashion Week has become about capturing that first shot and being the first to post it on Instagram, but don’t forget to be present too! Watch that runway strut, take in the shapes, colors, sounds and energy. Trust us, there’s nothing like Fashion Week in the city, and you definitely want to be there for it.
